Happy Veteran's Day

We took a quick trip up to the Reagan Library this morning for their Veteran's Day Celebration. The parking was a bit nutty but we got lucky and were able to quickly pick up a shuttle. The highlight was Chloe got to draw on a holiday card for for a solider. It just reminded me that I need to get better about serving others especially since there are so many people out there serving our country. God bless our troops!

A Beary Busy Weekend...

Here's what made it so beary special (it's a novel folks ;) )...

Sleeping Beauty Play

Dustin parents came in for the weekend, so on Friday night Jean & I took Chloe to a children's production of Sleeping Beauty. It was soooo cute- the kids did a great job and it reminded me of when I use to spend summer at my grandma's doing theatre camp. Chloe enjoyed every minute of it- she sang along, asked questions, clapped, and when it was all over she she asked if we could watch it again. Afterwards, she got to meet all the characters.

Civil War Re-enactment
Saturday morning, we went to a civil war re-enactment. It was super neat! Th civil war is an amazing period of time and it was interesting to be able to "experience" it.

The Inspiration
So I based Lilah's whole party on her "pinkbeary" a stuft bear that she loves. She carries it around with her, gives it snuggles, and has it in her hand when she gets up from her naps. I thought I was all clever until a couple of days before the party I look at it closer and realize it is a cat- oh well ;).

A Very Beary Birthday
Lilah's first birthday party went really well the kids made Build-a-Bears, Lilah loved opening her presents, and we had greek food for dinner. It was great spending time with friends and family!

The eating of the cake
Lilah had no problem digging into her cake. She even sprinkled some of it on her head.

Beary Homemade

The great thing about the Fenn Girls Birthday season is I've been able to do lots of baking. I got the cupcake idea from Wilton's website and the cake is after a pink bear that I printed out. I also made a celeBEARate banner.

Nana & Papa's Homecoming Talks
On Sunday we headed up to Dustin's parents house for there homecoming talks- they gave beautiful talks and was great to hear some tidbits from their mission to Wyoming. We even had Dutch Oven peach cobbler for dessert.

Schools Out for the Holidays

Lilah & Chloe had their last day of classes until January and maybe Chloe's last preschool class with her cousin :(. Afterwards, the clan went to Chuck E Cheeses. This was my girls first trip and Chloe was a huge fan. In fact, she was so entralled with the Chuckster she threw a royal tantrum when it was time to go. Fortunately, my brother was able to help with Lilah so I could wrangle Chloe to the car- oohhh kids ;).

"This is Halloween"

I must warn this post aint no joke- so beware of an overload of pictures ;). Well the big day of Halloween arrived. So, we kicked it off my going to a local museum where they had an old fashion Halloween Celebration. It was sooo neat, Chloe made a cornhusk doll, did a cake walk, and heard a spoooky story in the old schoolhouse. We even encountered Snow White and Gandalf.
That night we had a dinner in a pumpkin and trick or treating. The kids loved going door to door and seeing their Yaya and Papu in costume. The girls were all Sleeping Beauty and my Sister in law was Malelificient. It was a great Halloween night!

P.s. I also added some pictures of a recent daddy daughter movie date since I thought this post needed more pictures ;)

Ladybug Girls

This morning the girls and I went to a local halloween party. It was absolutely perfect for the preschool age group. Chloe did lots of crafts and Lilah got messy while Chloe watched the puppet show. Lilah totally loved that corn starch goop, she was going nuts.

Yesterday afternoon we went over to a local college where they had an altar for Day of the Dead. So we fed the skeletons* and gave them some bread we got on Olvera Street. Afterwards, Chloe had her first Push Ups from the bookstore, I can't remember the last time I had one of those, I think Fred Flintstone was still on it.

*Chloe version ;)
