Thanksgiving Festivities

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving! The food was delicious and we had lots of fun with family...

The Adams Olympic Turkey Trot

On friday we had our annual Turkey Trot but this year it was Olympic themed since it is an Olympic year. We had an awesome time, everyone came up with a country and made a flag. Team CamKelDel (Cameron, Kelda, Delysse) got the overall gold, followed by Castle Adams (Chris and Stacy) with silver, then FennLand(us) and RVC^ (Micah and Annie) tied for bronze. There was lots of creativity, laughs and a little "balloon contraversy" =). Thanks everyone for coming!

The Adams Come to Town!

My family is all in town for Thanksgiving so we've been having fun celebrating my brother's birthday and being mallrats. Today everyone is headed to Bakersfield for Annie's volleyball game, but I decided it would be too much for be since I get wiped out after a few hours at the mall =)

And here are more pictures of Lilah, she changes so much everyday....

Lying Low

Chloe started to go into sick mode on Friday, so we took it easy and she seems to be doing a lot better.

Recent Happenings...

To Grandmother's House we go...
Yesterday we did our first big outing with both girls. My Nana made a wonderful lunch and got to meet her 7th great grandchild. I forgot Chloe's diapers and of course as soon as we get there she goes number two, luckily I had an emergency diaper in the car. It was a rookie mistake, I tell yah =). Thanks for the wonderful lunch Grandma!

Breakfast with Santa...
I must admit I'm not a huge fan of celebrating Christmas before Thanksgiving but the local mall had a cute event where you had breakfast and met Santa afterwards. I figured it was a good way to introduce Chloe to "Santa", she was scared of him but at least she would get close to Mrs. Claus.

Lilah's 2 weeks old!...
Everything is continuing to go well with Lilah. She's starting to have more awake time so there goes my plenty of sleep =). Although last night she did great. She's also focusing her eyes more, so now we get to stare at each other =). Dustin has been SUCH a big help! Lilah takes a bottle (woohoo!) so Dustin has been able to help me with night time feeding and getting out of the house. I can't believe I use to ONLY pump though- it's so much work =).

Lots of Help!
Everybody has been helping us out so much! The ward is still bringing us dinners and my mom has been taking Chloe on thursdays. I just feel so blessed to have so many people that care about us and are willing to help out! Now I need to get off my butt and get better about serving others too =).

Lilah's First Bath

She wasn't a complete fan, but she didn't scream bloody murder either =)

My sister in law Kelda, made the girls these matching t-shirts. She also made Chloe a clay figure of Chloe in her halloween costume, muy talented.

Chloe's Adventures

To help Chloe adjust to Lilah we each spent some alone time with her...

Daddy Daughter Date
Dustin took Chloe to go see the movie Madagascar. I was curious how she would do but Dustin said she just sat there the whole time and especially loved the popcorn. When she came home, she had to tell me all the animals that were in the movie.

Mommy Daughter Time
This morning they had a Kids Swap Meet at a local gym. We found some sweet finds, I'm especially excited about my Baby Sign language DVD.

Afterwards, our local Children's orchard had a little special event. There was face painting, goodies, and balloon animals. Chloe old tumbling class teacher was there doing the face painting- small world.

With my coupons and sweet bargaining skills, I got this snuff for $2.34!

Of course here is Lilah, she just stays home and gets her beauty rest =)...

Sushi, Anyone?

On the way back from Lilah's appointment we decided to stop and get some lunch. Dustin loves Sushi and I realized I had never tried it. After some convincing he got me to try it, and I must admit it's not fishy like I expected. So anyho, Lilah's jaundice is flushing out and she gained about 4 ozs- so that's good. My mom also took Chloe to their new house and the library today. Thanks mom!

Cute Story: My parent's new house has horses next door and my mom was telling Chloe how they would feed them but first they had to stop off at the bank. Well aparently Chloe got this confused look and said "feed the horsies money?" My mom laughed and said no, and I guess for the rest of the time she keep saying "no feed the horsies money" =)

Lilah's One Week Old

Hard to believe Lilah is a week old! So far she has been a dream baby (knock on wood). She sleeps like a champ, rarely cries, and surprisely she actually likes nursing! Chloe hated to nurse, she would literally push me away so it's weird to have a baby that actually wants to. We had a doctor's visit on Monday and she hasn't lost too much weight but is a little jaundice so we are going back tommorrow for another check up.
Other than that, having the girls alone is going well- although I forget how much energy Chloe has. Chloe REALLY likes Lilah and is always trying to give her loves, today when Lilah woke up from her nap Chloe goes, "Hi, sweetie pie" She also wants to do everything Lilah does "I want to go night night", "I want to change the diaper- my turn" etc. Chloe also seems like a giant compared to Lilah and I keep trying to tell her how fragile Lilah is- so far she's only accidently kicked her once and thrown one book at her head =).
As far myself, I'm feeling pretty darn good all things considered. I'm getting plenty of sleep, mainly just getting a little stir crazy =). I'm also soooo happy I didn't gain 50+ lbs this time, so I should be running a marathon in no time- haha! Anyho that's about it- here is a pic of both girls at a week old:

Thankyou Jean!

Dustin's mom Jean has been with us this past week and she has been such a big help! Chloe has been getting tons of attention, and they have been going on little adventures together(the mall, Underwood farms, Buca, etc.) She's leaving this afternoon and we are really going to miss her!

A Little Small...

Dustin's mom, Jean, got Chloe and Lilah's clothes mixed up, so let's just say Chloe looked pretty sweet rocking this 3/6 month shirt! It was so funny!

And of course, I have to add another picture of Lilah..

We're Home!

Last time I was afraid to leave the hospital, this time I couldn't wait to get out =). Something about people coming into the room everytime I would drift off to sleep. So yes, we broke free last night and had our first night at home. Apparently, someone sent Lilah a party invitation for 1:30am because she woke up at 8pm and didn't go to bed till then. I was soooo tired, but she's been sleeping like a champ since. Here's some more pics...

Lilah's Birth Story

So I'm not sure if you know this but epidurals don't have a time limit? Once I learned this sweet piece of information, I got my first epidural when I was only 4 cm dilated. Unfortunately, it only went to one side of my body. But lucky for me, they were able to do another one before any painful contractions started. So yes, started labor at around 9am and by 2pm, I was fully dillated. The first 5 cm went pretty slow but as soon as I hit 6- wham like less than an hour later I was fully dillated. Of course, the best part was I didn't feel darn thing, I'm not kidding stubbing my toe would have hurt worse than having Lilah =). So yah as Dustin said, it was more like "lay-there" than labor since we just sat around and read magazines the whole time-oddest thing. I only had to do about 5-10 minutes of pushing then wait for the doctor and 5 minutes later we had our sweet little Lilah. No tearing, no cuts, no stiches. A 9.9 on the Ritcher scale (apgar scores). I don't what kind of praying you guys were doing but THANK YOU!

Here I am at 10 cm waiting to push...

Lilah Jean Fenn - 11/5/2008

She made it! And she is adorable, just like her dad. Lilah was 7 lbs 8 oz, 19 3/4in and actually the cutest baby in the whole place (no joke, i wouldn't joke about that).

Chelsea did a great job, she had an early epidural and luckily felt no pain throughout the entire process. She is feeling well, and even wants to get out of the hospital ASAP.

Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, and help through the pregnancy and especially today. We love you all.

It's the Final Countdown!

I can't believe that I forgot to post that I'm being induced Wednesday Morning. My doctor isn't a big fan of going overdue and since I'm dilated enough to only need pitocin, we decided to go ahead and set a date. I still don't feel ready but I figure I won't feel ready in another week either =)- I just can't believe how fast this pregnancy has gone! We are so excited to meet our little gal and hope everything goes well on wednesday!

AOTW #57: Jungle Land

Well today was our last AOTW before baby. We went to an indoor play area and it was absolutely wonderful! Everything was toddler friendly so I could just sit there with a magazine while Chloe played. She especially liked the mini- roller coaster.

P.S. I've really been into sprucing up my pictures lately. I just use publisher and clip art, it's really fun!

Happy Halloween!

We had a wonderful halloween. First we took Chloe to a local community carnival. It was nice she got to do some trick or treating and play carnival games. We also found out that Chloe will not even try cotton candy even if you say it is candy.

Afterwards we went to my parent's house to do some real trick or treating and have dinner in a pumpkin. At first, Chloe wasn't too sure about trick or treating but once she caught on- watch out! She was saying "trick or treat," "Happy Halloween" to all the neighbors she also tried to walk into everyone's houses. She really liked helping her yaya pass out the candy.

Let's just say Chloe has been doing a fair amount of dressing up this month. Thanks Brian and Moonsung for the adorable outift from Solvang!
